A guest performance of What Would You Give Your Life For?, directed by  Haris Pašović, is scheduled for 30th October on our Ljuba Tadić stage.

What Would You Give Your Life For? won the Best Production award and the Best Ensemble award at the Theatre Festival of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Jajce and the Best Ensemble Award at the Festival of BiH Drama in Zenica. In addition, this production was included in the programmes of the International Theatre Festival MESS in Sarajevo, Sterijino Pozorje theatre festival in Novi Sad as well as the Central European Forum in Bratislava.

The idea for the production was created during the lessons of the MA study programme in Acting at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad.   Together with his students, Pašović tried to create theatrical portraits of people who had laid down their lives for their ideals.  That is how this production came into existence and its title was, in fact, the question that Haris Pašović used to ask his students: What would you give your life for?

The cast includes a number of young actors from East-West theatre company in Sarajevo, Change Theatre in Novi Sad, Bosnian National Theatre in Zenica and from the Novi Sad Theatre (Újvidéki Színház).

Haris Pašović has also worked as director with Yugoslav Drama Theatre and directed Spring Awakening by Wedekind and Calling the Birds based on a play by Aristophanes, both of them milestones in the history of YDT but also in the theatrical tradition of former Yugoslavia as a whole.
