The new theatre season 2018/2019 begins this week at Yugoslav Drama Theatre.  The repertoire for September will be announced early next week when tickets become available from our Box Office.

On 16th September at the foyer of Yugoslav Drama Theatre we shall be celebrating 100th birthday of Branka Veselinović, member of the first YDT ensemble and our oldest actress.  Branka Veselinović was cast member in the first YDT production of The King of Betajnova which opened on 3rd April, 1948.  She and her husband Mlađa Veselinović remained members of our theatre ensemble until the day they retired.  Branka Veselinović has received a number of awards for her work, has published books and worked as a UNICEF ambassador… She is still very active in her humanitarian work and is always present at all the celebrations or opening nights at Yugoslav Drama Theatre.  We shall be marking this jubilee with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information and Belgrade City Council.

Performances of Suite N°3 ‘Europe’ are scheduled for 13th & 14th September on our Ljuba Tadić stage as part of this year’s BITEF theatre festival.

Our Art Reduction campaign is set to continue in the new season and tickets will be available at a 50% discount when bought of the day of the performance for the majority of our productions.

In September we continue with rehearsals of The Glass Neck, a new play by Biljana Srbljanović, directed by Jagoš Marković. The production is scheduled to open on 5th October on our Ljuba Tadić stage.
