Nebojša Glogovac

NEBOJŠA GLOGOVAC
(Trebinje, 30th August, 1969 – 9th February, 2018, Belgrade)

While he was still a child, his family moved from his native town of Trebinje to Pančevo where Nebojša completed his primary and secondary education. He then resolved to do a degree in psychology at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade.  However, he soon decided to abandon psychology for acting and in 1990 he became a student at the Faculty of Dramatic Art in Belgrade to study with Prof. Vladimir Jevtović (his fellow students were Nataša Ninković, Vojin Ćetković, Sergej Trifunović, Nela Mihailović…).

His first role at Yugoslav Drama Theatre came in 1993 where he appeared as Niko Đurov in the production of Fake Emperor Šćepan Mali, based on writings by Njegoš and directed by Dejan Mijač.  Soon after, Nebojša became a recipient of a YDT bursary and not long after that a permanent member of our ensemble.  From very early on, Nebojša was entrusted with big and important roles in some of our milestone productions such as In the Hold by Vladimir Arsenijević, Troilus and Cressida by William Shakespeare, The Powder Keg by Dejan Dukovski, Tracks by Milena Marković, Molière – Another Life based on writings by Mikhail Bulgakov, Huddersfield by Uglješa Šajtinac, Metamorphoses based on Ovid, A Suspicious Person by Branislav Nušic, The Broken Jug by Heinrich von Kleist.  His last role and his last performance on 13th December, 2017 was that of Hamlet by William Shakespeare, directed by Aleksandar Popovski.
