Goran Šušljik

MA in stage directing from Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Skopje, Macedonia. BA in acting from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade. Worked for the Boško Buha Theatre. Joined the Yugoslav Drama Theatre in 1995.

Goran has appeared in cult YDT productions which are still on the repertoire. Notable roles in YDT productions: Polonius (Hamlet); in Metamorphoses; Hero (Tracks); Raša (Huddersfield); Milosh (Belgrade Trilogy); Kyril (The Power Keg); Marquis (Le Misanthrope); Meier (The Supermarket); Feklusha (Dog Waltz); Major (Italian Night); Horatio (Hamlet); Hansel (Boat for Dolls); Dragan (Barbelo, of Dogs and Children); Manus (Translations); Prominent (Himmelkommando); the Prince (La Dispute). Recipient of two Sterijino Pozorje Awards and two YDT annual awards.

He has also performed in other theatres such as CZKD, NP Beograd, Atelje 212, Pandur Theaters, Zvezdara Theatre, Teatar T).

Goran has directed several plays: Two Gentlemen of Verona, Schumann – the sound poet, Chocolate Cherry, Sabre, The Wire. By staging Harold Pinter’s Betrayal in Bojan Stupica Theatre he obtained his master degree in stage directing. His supervisor was Slobodana Unkovskog.

Together with Nebojša Glogovac he set up the Eye to Eye production company which went on to produce the feature film under the name of Huddersfield, based on the YDT production of the same name.
